Three successive air raids targeting LTTE positions

Sri Lanka Air Force combatant jets raided LTTE positions in Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu fronts this morning, 01 January.
Air Force spokesperson, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, language to defence.lk said that the first air raid was launched at 8.15AM and engaged at two recognized targets situated Kilinochchi front. LTTE defences located 1.5Km west of Kilinochchi and 1.5Km east of Paranthan were the targets of the task and it was launched in hold up of earth troops Task Force 1.
Meanwhile, SLAF MI-24 helicopters raided LTTE defence experiential 4.5Km northwest of Mullaiyaweli in Mullaittivu front in support of 59 division heading towards Mullaittivu, air force representative said.
unconnectedly, fighter jets bombed at LTTE authority base situated 2.5km east of Kilinochchi approximately 11.20AM. The targeted LTTE command base was totally shattered due to the air raid, air forces spokesperson said.
