Sri Lankan expatriates donate 25 wheelchairs for disabled war heroes






On invite from Lt Col Chula Abeynayake and information provided by Maj. D.C.W.K. Kulatunga, both from the Gemunu watch of the Sri Lanka Army, loyal Sri Lankans living in New York, New Jersey and Washington DC areas in the United States of America lately made a donation of 25 wheelchairs and few walking aids to the Regimental head office of the Gemunu watch of Sri Lanka Army.
Donation was handed over to the Commanding officer of the Regimental head office of the Gemunu watch, Lt Col D.M.S. Bandara on Wednesday January 14th 2009 in a simple rite held in Kuruwita, in the attendance of many disabled armed forces.
It was also attended by Mr. P. Gunawardana, Mr. Indunil De Silva and Lt. D.H.M. Seneviratne SLN (Retired) who represented the donors.
Due to kindness and loyalty of the donors, lives of many disabled military have reassured.
