LTTE attempt to breach defence line averted; 15 LTTE bodies found - Mullaittivu

Troops of 59 Division productively averted one more attempt of the LTTE terrorists to breached the defence line in north of Mullaiyaweli in Mullaittivu face this morning, 1 January.
According to the defence sources, intense fighting between troops and LTTE terrorists ensued from 5.30 AM today when the collection of LTTE terrorist attempted to smash the safety forces' defence line. LTTE terrorists suffered heavy wounded in security forces reprisal.
In a following search process conducted in the area, troops have found 14 bodies of LTTE terrorists killed during the quarrel. One MPMG (Multi Purpose Machine Gun), two RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade) launchers, ten RPG rounds, five T-56 riffles, hand grenades, three I-Com sets, one night dream gear and one GPS (Global Positioning scheme) are also in the middle of the items found.
Meanwhile, troops had more than a few confrontations with LTTE terrorists in south of Cilawatta and west of Chilawatta areas.
