Army hunts down LTTE infiltrators - Piramanthalkulam North
Soldiers of Army 57 Division now manning the active defence in the rear areas of the main theatre of the battle attacked a group of LTTE infiltrators detected in the Piramanthalkulam North area this morning (Apr 2).
According to the defence sources, the quarrel occurred about 11.45 AM. Troops throughout the following search found 3 bodies of slain LTTE cadres, 30 disguise uniforms alike to those damaged by the Sri Lankan soldiers, six T-56 rifles, two radio message sets , eight military packs, two claymore mines , C-4 high explosives , one IED, the length of with other military items.

Heavy fighting in north-east of Puthukudiyiruppu; 13 LTTE bodies found

Navy rescues 108 Tamil Civilians fleeing from LTTE Hostage
Sri Lanka Navy rescue 108 Tamil civilians who had been fleeing from the cruel LTTE hostage in Mulaithivu. The Navy rescued them on the 21st March 2009 in the seas of Chundikulum approximately 1210 hrs.
The rescued consisted of 33 adult males, 28 mature females and 47 children. The group had been establish on board 06 white flag-hoisted dinghies while attempting to flee from the LTTE control in the un-cleared areas of Mullaithivu.
Upon rescuing, all were brought aground at the Munai Beach and provided with much-needed food, food and ingest and medical assistance. The rescued spoken their heart-felt thanks to the Navy for coming to their rescue. After the beginning investigations, the rescued civilians were handed over to the public relations member officer of the SLA at Point Pedro.
The mass departure of the innocent Tamil civilians evasion from LTTE clutches is now on the rise. This is largely due to the self-assurance they have placed in the Government Security Forces whose caring operations have helped Tamil civilians to get out themselves from the terrorists' clutches.

Over dozen LTTE terrorists killed, many injured in Mullaittivu fighting

Sri Lankan soldiers continue fighting terrorists, rescue more civilians - Puthukkudiyiruppu

Sangaree appeals to Prabha again
The TULF leader V. Anandasangaree in his latest letter previous week to LTTE leader V. Prabhakaran called for his give in along with his cadres as that would be the only way to save the Tamil people who are by force detained in a small area in the North.
Sangaree in his letter said "As far as we can see the war is over. What is incidence these days is mopping up and winding up operations in a small area where 81,000 families had been squeezed into. Detaining these people for an indefinite period will not help you in any way.
"The future place of your whole group is also extremely insecure. Rather than behind all of them please come to your senses and put aside the remaining information of your cadre. Please give in them and all of them can be saved under a general official pardon. Please break up your organisation and give in to the Armed Forces. This is the only way by which you could save them.
"You are being accused by the international community of ill-treating the people. The UN and EU had fated your action. The UN High Commission for Human human rights and organisations like the Amnesty global have accused you of by force detaining innocent people.
The Tamils in important cities all over the world have demanded that the blameless people should be saved, who do not speak for you. The message for you is to release our people. The blame of saving Tamils is now completely in your hands," Anandasangaree said in his letter to Prabhakaran.

Another 281 civilians rescued from terror clutches with navy assistance - Mullaittivu
Sri Lanka Navy has facilitated rescuing of 281 civilians held imprisoned by the LTTE terrorists in Mullaittivu.
Navy sources said that, the 6th batch of civilians including patients requiring instant medical notice was transported to Trincomalee by the "MV Greed Ocean" yesterday (Feb 28). The Navy provided the safe passage for the vessel carrying civilians from Mullaittivu and conventional the passengers at Trincomalee harbour.
Navy medical teams provide instant checkup action to the needy patients winning disembarkation and rapid them to the government hospital Trincomalee for additional treatment.
MV Green Ocean has been charted by the government of Sri Lanka in order to save civilians held as human protect by the LTTE terrorists in Mullaittivu. The International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) sails the ship under its flag. The Government Hospital of Trincomalee has been adequately staffed and provided with sufficient stocks of drug by the Health Ministry of Sri Lanka in order to meet the compulsion.
According to the Navy source, the last lot of civilians included 95 men, 128 women and 58 children. Out of them 65 men and 72 females were patients.
From 10th February 2009, Sri Lanka navy has assisted rescuing of 1907 civilians counting large number of patients by MV Green Ocean. This was in adding to the large number of civilians rescued by Sri Lanka navy sea units deployed in the Northeastern coastal waters.

Army Poised to Liberate Last Town Under Terror Clutches
Sri Lanka Army offensive basics are gradually encircling the Puthukkudduyirppu built-up, the last town to be unconventional from terrorist control.

Moping up operations continue in west of Puthukkudiyiruppu




LTTE terrorists have turned the Uddayarkattu government school into a medical center to treat its wounded cadres.
Sri Lanka Army 58 division soldiers after wresting control over the Puthukkudiyiruppu West built up are now busy in moping operations in the area, defence sources reveal.
Battlefield reports indicate that troops contain so far collected 28 bodies of LTTE cadres since Monday (Feb 16). Yesterday unaccompanied troops found 14 bodies of LTTE cadres along with three T-56 riffles, one 81mm mortar gun , two radio message sets and one sniper riffle.
Heavy clashes ensued in both north and south of A-35 road (Paranthan- Mullaittivu) as troops of 2 Commando Regiment (2CR), 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (11SLLI), 10 SLLI, 7 Sinha Ragiment (7SR), 12 Gamunu Watch (12GW), and 8GW work of art from north entered into the Puthukkudiyiruppu West areas on Monday.
The Puthukkudiyiruppu West built up is situated about 18 miles from Parantham down the A-35 . Puthukkudiyiruppu town is the last rural community in the residual LTTE collection house which is located about 3 miles from the Puthukkudiyiruppu West built up.

The LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran still in Vanni will carry on to hold the blameless civilians until the military captures him the two LTTE Black Tiger suicide cadres, who have surrendered to Army exposed. In an exclusive meeting with the Sunday Observer they said that Prabhakaran's son Charles Anthony was commanding their armed forces with other famous LTTE leaders like Banu and Lakshman.
The two Black Tigers in their twenties had surrendered to the troops of the 57 Division at Therumurukandy on Jan. 28, after they failed in their attempts to bomb the bund of the Iranamadu Tank which if succeeded could have caused immense disaster.
Anthony and Soosai had briefed them on the mission, for an underwater obliteration on Jan 20, but they, who were fed up with the 'behaviour' of the LTTE and its leadership had determined to surrender.
"The LTTE is abducting lots of children who are in their teens. They want to give up civilians as ordinary fodder. Sons and daughters of the LTTE leaders are living lushness lives," they charged. The two former Tiger cadres said that the innocent youth are life form brain-washed and sent on suicide missions. According to them, with the battle hotting up, Prabhakaran had sent his wife and the youngest son 10-year-old, Balachandran to a safer location.

Intense fighting reported in Pudukudiirippu; heavy damages to terrorists

Meanwhile, troops of 14 Sri Lanka Singa Regiment (14 SLSR), 20 Sri Lanka glow Infantry (20 SLLI) and 18 Gemunu Watch (18 GW) serving under 642 Brigade in service in the Puthukkudiyiruppu area confronted with LTTE terrorists causing grave recompense to the enemy, the armed report added.
During a clearing process, troops of 14 SLSR have uncovered a few weapons absent away by the terrorists. 1 x G3A3 weapon, 1 x AK47 weapon, 1 x repeater weapon, 1 x G3A3 Light Machine Gun and 1 x shotgun were also among the recoveries, report said.
Separately, troops of 18 GW have found a resolution antenna while conducting a search and clear process in general area Puthukkudiyiruppu.

LTTE fire fleeing civilians ; 19 killed , Army rescue 1046 civilians - Puthukkuduyiruppu







The latest reports inward from the Army Task Force 2 indicate that 19 civilians have been killed and 75 others injured in the cowardly LTTE assault at the civilians seeking refuge with the soldiers in Udayarkattukualam this morning (Feb 10). Among the dead are 2 children , 5 women , and 12 males. Another 28 children , 30 women and 17 men have suffered injuries.
Sri Lanka Army Task Force 2 soldiers in service west of Puthukkuduyiruppu, in Mullaittivu area have rescued about 1046 Tamil civilians evasion the LTTE person protect in Wanni this morning (Feb 10). According to the defence sources, the civilians have at home to the civilian save point in the North east of Udayarkattukulam area between 6 AM and 7 AM amidst raging LTTE little arms flames.
Army has taken events to airlift the seriously wounded people to Anuruadhapura and Vavuniya hospitals while the others have been given first aid at field dressing position at the save point itself. Troops expects more civilians arrivals today, said the sources.
The attack at the civilians is the third in this month approved out by the LTTE terrorists to stop civilians getting out of the human shield in Wanni. Yesterday (Feb 9) a brainwashed LTTE suicide bomber blew herself up, at a civilian save tip killing 10 civilians and wounding over 40.

Over 4500 Tamil civilians reach security forces seeking safety - Mullaittivu
As the security forces further decrease LTTE beating areas, 4701 more Tamil civilians who were kept as hostages by the LTTE terrorists have crossed over to unconventional areas from the Puthukudiyirippu in Mullaittivu amidst heavy thrashing and gunfire by the LTTE, throughout the last 24 hours, 9 February, defence sources said.

Deputy sea tiger leader killed; fall of Chalai imminent
Adding another huge hinder for the LTTE terrorists in Wanni battlefront the Deputy LTTE sea tiger head and three other sea tiger leaders were killed in a fierce argument took put in north of Chalai yesterday, 4 February, the newest military sources in battlefront said.
According to the available information, LTTE sea tiger second-in-command leader known as Vinayagam was killed as troops of 55 Division on assignment to imprison LTTE's last sea tiger base, Chalai, launched an effective unpleasant push against LTTE confrontation. Army, Air Force foil LTTE bid to breach defence line - Mullaittivu
Sri Lanka Army 59 Division and the Task Force 4 with the help of Sri Lanka Air Force combatant craft have let down an LTTE bid to break the Mullaittivu defence line.
According to the battleground sources, the terrorists since Sunday (Feb 1) had made a desperate attempt to breach the army onward deface line, west of Nanthikadal lagoon. serious clashed prevailed in the area as close district battles erupted between troops and the terrorists during last 72 hours.
Air Force spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara told defence.lk that 13 air missions were conducted between 8, last night to 6 this morning targeting LTTE reinforcements, gatherings and strongholds. Israeli built Kafir fighters approved nine out of the total missions while the 4 others were close air hold up mission by Russian built MI 24 Helicopter gun ships. He said that the terrorists have suffered a heavy toll throughout the missions, citing operational sources.
Defence cleverness sources said that the unsuccessful terrorists unpleasant was lead by the LTTE's latest armed wing leader Theepan. The aim of the terrorists was to get well the lost earth in Mullaittivu to bring back to life confidence of their cadres. However , the terrorists have suffered a serious beating , the sources added.
