Fierce clashes East of Kilinochchi; Army 57 and 58 Divisions moving steadily on A-35

Sri Lanka Army 57 and 58 Divisions are progressively marching on the West-East axis the distance end to end of the A-35 road (Paranthan - Mullaittivu) road, reveal battleground sources.
Troops of 58 Division following the release of Murasumoddai last afternoon (Jan 8) have in development eliminating LTTE hideouts in the North of A- 35. Army commandos in service on the forefront busy a terrorist group detected in the North of Murasumoddai around 11.30 AM. The commandoes found 2 bodies of slain LTTE cadres and a motorbike during subsequent search.
Meanwhile, troops of Army 57 Division following the release of Kilinochchi are now advancing eastwards dominating the area between A-35 and the North of Iranamdu tank. Troops busy in daylong clashes yesterday in the outer rim of Vaddakachchi , one of the strongest remaining LTTE stranglehold in Wanni. throughout evening sum operations, 57 Division soldiers found 5 bodies of LTTE cadres, one T-56 weapon, four hand bullets and a belt arrange.
