Troops of Army 61 Division manning the defence in Vavuniya confronted with a compilation of LTTE infiltrators detect in the Pampemadu area approximately 6, last evening (Jan 8).
During following search, troops found 4 bodies of slain LTTE cadres, 5 T-56 rifles, 6 hand grenades, 1 radio message set, 1 rifle fitted with silencer, and 1 micro gun.
Troops think that it was this group of terrorists that had accepted out more than a few claymore attacks and assassinations in the area throughout last two weeks.
