Valuable donations for disabled war heroes



The government highly be grateful fors the dedication of war heroes in a state of relationships where we add to remarkable victories in the caring operation of safe guarding the motherland. "Ranawiru Seva" authority is organizing a diversity of programs with a reason of motivating, and providing facilities for the smooth run of the day to day life of the disabled war heroes who scarified their arms and lives for the sake of our motherland.
Under this program a rite was held today (17) at the Defence Ministry to award 100 scholarships for the brood of disabled war heroes, 30 Three-wheelers for the disabled carrying weapons and aid of 4,500,000 rupees for development of houses of 45 families of military personals who dedicated to secure guard the territorial genuineness of the island.
For this occasion the secretary of the president Mr. Lalith Weeratunga, secretary of the Defence Ministry Mr.Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, secretary to the Ministry of foreign relationships Mr. Palitha Kohona, the chairman of the center bank Mr. Ajith Niwad Kabral, Air marshal Donald Perera, President of the Ranawiru Seva Authority Major General Palitha Fernando and more than a few other memorable guests participated.
Commencing the rite 30 Three-wheelers were donated to selected 30 disabled war heroes by the distinguished guests. Later chosen members of 45 families were awarded with an aid of 4,500,000 rupees with a reason of rising their houses and as long as essential sanitary amenities in their houses.
Thereafter chosen 100 children of the disabled war heroes were awarded with scholarships with a validity of 12000 rupees an each by the secretary of the president Mr. Lalith Weeratunga, desk of the Defence Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and other memorable guests. In this time wheel chairs available by the staff of Korean Embassy for the disabled soldiers was donated by the secretary of the Defence Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Thereafter 100,000 rupees donated by the "Rakna Lanka (Pvt.) Limited" for the "Api Wenuwen Api" fund was handed over to the secretary of the Defence Mr. Kotabhaya Rajapaksa.
Addressing the meeting the secretary to the president Mr. Lalith Weeratunga avowed that it's our responsibility to pay our admiration to the war heroes who scarified their whole survival in the process of secure guarding the motherland from terrible terrorism. It shows that the management has not beyond the disabled war heroes through the aid made by the Ranawiru Seva Authority today.
Further speaking he affirmed that within a small period of 36 months the President Mahinda Rajapaksa was able to add to number of odd victories with the help of state sector and through the add-on of all three forces and the police. He very valued the add-on done by the secretary of the Defence Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa in this endeavor.
Finally he complete a ask for from all citizens to give for the "Api Wenuwen Api" finance for the betterment of war heroes and their families who provide up their lives for the territorial authenticity of the country.
Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, Mrs. Nelum Gunathilake, Mrs. Kamani Siriwardene, The Officers of the Defence Ministry and the Officers of all three forces and police and the members of their families also were participated in this impressive rite.
