President's Security now Comes Under New Army Unit



Officers and Other Ranks of the Army as long as security to President Mahinda Rajapakse were brought under the new President's Guard, a component chiefly raised by the Army wholly for that purpose on the orders given by Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka.
Investiture of new limit badges and headgears for those soldiers took place previous morning (30) throughout a easy ceremony at the Presidential Secretariat structure in Galle Face, Colombo, headed by Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka.
The new Army wing, accountable for President's security will purpose beneath the command of Brigadier K.J. Alwis.
A Guard of Honour was accorded to Commander of the Army Lt. Gen. Sarath Fonseka who graced the time as Chief Guest on his arrival at the premises.
Later, Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapakse, Army Commander, officers and military of the new wing were welcomed to the Temple Trees where all of them the length of with President Mahinda Rajapakse posed for a compilation photograph in order to blot the inauguration of the new wing.
Senior Army and Police Officers were there on the occasion. Prior to this installation, they all were piece under President's Security Division.
