Navy uncovers haul of weapons - Trincomalee







Sri Lanka Navy, has exposed a haul of weapons from the Kumburupiddi, north of Trincomalee, last afternoon (Nov 8). According to the navy sources, the substance were found throughout a special search process conducted by navy troops acting on a occupant information.
A T56 weapon, magazines, two anti-personal mines, thirty one bullets of 7.62 x 39 mm, one claymore, five shot, three cyanide capsules, two antennae (hand set), eight metres of antenna wire, twelve meters of antenna wire, one small phone rise, two pliers, one hand set enclose and twenty nine pen be on fire down batteries were in the middle of the items which were found concealed in the rub tropical forest of Kumpurupiddi, the sources said.
The sources added that the substance had been brought to the area by the LTTE terrorists to do sabotages in the Eastern Province.
