Troops of 57 division sustained their advances further eastwards from Kilinochchi to gain manage residual LTTE defenses in the area. Army military had more than a few confrontations with LTTE terrorists detected in Vaddakachchi and Iranamadu areas yesterday, 9 January.
According to the defence sources strong battle between troops and LTTE terrorists reported in general area Vaddakachchi last evening. Intercepting LTTE message channels, it is exposed that scores of LTTE terrorists were killed while several others upset during the battle. Troops also conventional minor compensation, armed sources said.
In following search operations conducted in universal area Vaddakachchi, troops have found 3 bodies of LTTE terrorists killed in confrontations along with T-56 weapon
