Heavy fighting in north-east of Puthukudiyiruppu; 13 LTTE bodies found

Over dozen LTTE terrorists killed, many injured in Mullaittivu fighting

55 Div troops gain control over Pattikarai area in Mullaittivu

Sri Lankan soldiers continue fighting terrorists, rescue more civilians - Puthukkudiyiruppu

More LTTE military items found - west of Putthukkudiruppu
Troops of 621 and 622 Brigades serving under Task Force 2 (TF2) have establish more aggressive items left behind by the fleeing terrorists while conducting search and clear operations yesterday, 24 February, military report conventional from the battlefront said.

Army Poised to Liberate Last Town Under Terror Clutches

Anthony and Soosai had briefed them on the mission, for an underwater obliteration on Jan 20, but they, who were fed up with the 'behaviour' of the LTTE and its leadership had determined to surrender.
"The LTTE is abducting lots of children who are in their teens. They want to give up civilians as ordinary fodder. Sons and daughters of the LTTE leaders are living lushness lives," they charged. The two former Tiger cadres said that the innocent youth are life form brain-washed and sent on suicide missions. According to them, with the battle hotting up, Prabhakaran had sent his wife and the youngest son 10-year-old, Balachandran to a safer location.

LTTE fire fleeing civilians ; 19 killed , Army rescue 1046 civilians - Puthukkuduyiruppu







The latest reports inward from the Army Task Force 2 indicate that 19 civilians have been killed and 75 others injured in the cowardly LTTE assault at the civilians seeking refuge with the soldiers in Udayarkattukualam this morning (Feb 10). Among the dead are 2 children , 5 women , and 12 males. Another 28 children , 30 women and 17 men have suffered injuries.
Sri Lanka Army Task Force 2 soldiers in service west of Puthukkuduyiruppu, in Mullaittivu area have rescued about 1046 Tamil civilians evasion the LTTE person protect in Wanni this morning (Feb 10). According to the defence sources, the civilians have at home to the civilian save point in the North east of Udayarkattukulam area between 6 AM and 7 AM amidst raging LTTE little arms flames.
Army has taken events to airlift the seriously wounded people to Anuruadhapura and Vavuniya hospitals while the others have been given first aid at field dressing position at the save point itself. Troops expects more civilians arrivals today, said the sources.
The attack at the civilians is the third in this month approved out by the LTTE terrorists to stop civilians getting out of the human shield in Wanni. Yesterday (Feb 9) a brainwashed LTTE suicide bomber blew herself up, at a civilian save tip killing 10 civilians and wounding over 40.

Deputy sea tiger leader killed; fall of Chalai imminent

Fighting intensifies at Mullaittivu battlefront: Challai under siege

Troops capture Prabakaran's main hideout: Terrorist to face inevitable defeat - Mullaittivu
Sri Lankan Army troops of the 11th Light Infantry (SLLI) under the 58 Division led by Brigadier Shavendra Silva have captured a main LTTE hiding place, what is believed to be a major housing site of the terror leader Prabakaran.
The two storied underground built residential multifaceted was situated in a two acre coconut cultivated land which was well fortified, provided with all-round defense from neighboring gun positions and bunker locations. The whole area was brought under security forces control following serious fighting that ensued between troops and LTTE since near the beginning this morning (Feb 2). At least 20 LTTE terrorists were killed during the argument that lasted for hours the sources further said.
According to ground sources, the subversive dugout runs 50ft deep, private with a 3ft thick layer of concrete. The air force had bombed this site before, which is in the middle of cadjan houses 500m west of the Paranthan - Mullaititvu main road in general area Piramanthalkulama. The underground dugout was totally air taught which consisted of four furnished compartments and tiled floors, the sources said adding that watch cameras were also built-in at the entry of the bunker many-sided.

96 civilians flee from LTTE: seek protection with security forces
Despite LTTE binding hold on the thousands of civilians entrapped in the outer edge of Mullaittivu, many have made their way towards the liberated regions under security forces seeking safety during the past few days. The latest reported was when 96 civilians from the non-liberated areas total their way in two groups towards the Omanthai Entry/Exit tip on Sunday (Feb 1).
