Minor bomb explosion near Red Mosque - Petta

A minor bomb bang was reported near the Red Mosque at Bangasala Street, Pettah, Colombo, today (Jan 3) at around 4.55p.m.
Three people, counting a 16 year old, continued minor injuries, and were admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo. Evidence suggests that the blast was triggered due to an IED placed beneath a van, our reporter reporting from the explosion site said citing Petta Police sources.
On Friday (Jan 2), LTTE terrorists approved out a suicide bomb assault near the Air Force managerial Base at Salve Island, killing 2 people and injuring 32 others.
A cruel terrorist outfit, the LTTE has been engaged in a gory terror campaign next to the citizens of Sri Lanka since 1983. Lead by a dictator, it has been trying to set up an ethnically pure Tamil state in Sri Lanka. The LTTE is also the first terrorist organisation to use suicide bombers, and to develop marine and aerial hostility capabilities. The group is included in the UN list of disgrace for using youngster soldiers, and is barred in many countries in the world.
