Air force jets batter LTTE defences in Kilinochchi and Paranthan

Sri Lanka Air Force fighter jets have launched a string of air strikes targeting LTTE battlefield defenses located in the South of Kilinochchi and the West of Paranthan areas since near the beginning this morning (Dec 13).
Air Force spokesperson, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara told defence.lk that the combatant pilots have completed six winning missions so far. The attacks are being approved out in hold up of the Army 57 Division and the Task Force 1, he added.
Meanwhile, battleground sources said that the soldiers are progressively approaching Kilinochchi built up from the West and the South. The town has been treated with a great representative significance by the terrorists who had their administrative center until recently. Heavy clashes prevailed in the area during last pair of days as the terrorists gave heavy confrontation to the soldiers marching in.
