17 terrorists killed 12 wounded in Wanni operations

17 terrorists were reported killed, 12 wounded during heavy fighting ensued between troops and LTTE at the Wanni battle fronts on Tuesday, security sources said.

According to reports received, 10 LTTE terrorists were killed and 9 wounded at the Vavuniya front, while 4 soldiers were also reported wounded during the clashes. 6 terrorists were also killed at the Mannar front during fighting in general areas at Nedunkandal and Udaiyadi, security sources said. In Welioya in general area Janakapura a terrorist was reported killed and another two wounded, according to military reports. Two soldiers were also injured during the clashes.

Meanwhile, at the Jaffna front in Nagarkovil a soldier was killed and another inured due to an IED explosion, security sources said.
