Sri Lankan Expatriates in Canada protest against LTTE terrorism

A well-attended massive protest against LTTE terrorism was held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 starting from 10.30 am at Yonge and Bloor intersection in Toronto, Canada. Posters and banners decorated with anti-LTTE slogans condemning the innocent civilian killings and child recruitment for warfare and thanking Canadian Authorities to ban LTTE and its front organization World Tamil Movement in Canada were displayed by the protesters. This is the biggest such event so far taken place in Toronto, Canada against LTTE terrorism.

The enthusiastic Sri Lankan crowd conducted the protest for nearly three hours and finally held a rally in the protest area before they walked away. Importantly, large number of people from anti-LTTE Tamil community, represent Tamil Democratic Cultural Organization, took part in the event. A Leaflet was distributed to educate Canadians on LTTE terrorism during the protest. Toronto Police provided the security to the protest.
