Api Wenuwen Api' fund launched in UK

Sri Lankans in UK, gathering to celebrate Ranaviru Day at the Kingsbury Buddhist Temple yesterday (June 7), launched a fund to build houses for families of servicemen, 'Api Wenuwen Api'.

It was decided to collect enough funds to build 100,000 houses under this project. Already 40,000 pounds have been collected, according to sources in London.

Ven. Piyadassi Thero, Chief Incumbent of the Kingsbury Buddhist Temple, called upon all Sri Lankans committed to restoring peace and democracy in the country to contribute lavishly to this noble cause.
