19 LTTE terrorists killed, 27 wounded in Wanni clashes

At least 19 LTTE terrorists were reported killed and 27 other wounded during fighting broke out between troops and LTTE at the Wanni theater of battle yesterday (July 5).

According to reports received, troops have also removed 184 anti-personnel mines during separate search operations conducted in general areas at Parasankulama and North of Janakapura, in Vavuniya and Welioya fronts.

At the Vavuniya battlefront, 12 terrorists were killed, 18 others reported wounded in fighting erupted in Echchalakkai, Ampddankulama, Naddankandal. Moddai, Palamoddai and Navvi general areas.

Meanwhile, at the Mannar front, troops claimed that 3 terrorists were killed during separate clashes with LTTE in Puttukulama, Eachalaraklai general areas. 2 solders also received injuries during the confrontation, according to reports.

On the Welioya battlefront, military claimed that 4 LTTE terrorists were killed and 9 others wounded on Saturday.
