50 Computers for Jaffna students

Security Forces Head Quarters (Jaffna) collaborating with Nestle Lanka Ltd and Sri Lanka Rebuild Organization donated 50 computers among the schools in Jaffna peninsula on last Monday, July 07. The computers were officially handed over to the principles of the respective schools in a function held at the Union school in Thelippale under the patronage of Maj Gen G.A Chandrasiri, Commander of SFHQ(Jaffna).

The Nestle Lanka Ltd has donated 40 computers while the Sri Lanka Rebuild Organization donated 10 more computers to make this event success. This is another gesture of goodwill extended by the security forces in Jaffna to uplift the education standards of the students in the Peninsula under the direct supervision and guidance of the commander of the SFHQ(Jaffna), Maj. Gen. G.A Chandrasiri.

The Northern Province education directors, Jaffna district additional education director, principles teachers and students of the schools in Jaffna district also present at the occasion.

Earlier, SFHQ Jaffna has donated computers among the 21 schools that produced best results in G.C.E (Advanced Level) examination in 2007 in Jaffna district. In addition, another computer was donated to the student who scored highest marks in the year-5 scholarship examination in 2007.
