9 LTTE terrorists killed, over 13 wounded in Wanni fighting

At least 9 LTTE terrorists were killed, over 13 others reported wounded when troops clashed with LTTE at the Wanni theater of battle on Monday (May 12), security sources said.

According to reports received, an LTTE terrorist was killed during fighting ensued with troops at the Vavuniya front in addition to an Army casualty reportedly caused due to an AP mine explosion. On the Mannar battle front 6 terrorists were killed and 5 others wounded, what ground troops described 'sporadic clashes' in general areas Alankulama, Udiyadi, Kaddpulama, Pikkulama and Sirumullikankandal. Two soldiers were also reported wounded in general area Kaddpulama.

Meanwhile, at the Welioya front military sources said that, 2 LTTE terrorist were killed and 8 others injured in fighting ensued between troops and LTTE in general areas North of Janakapura and North of Kiriibbanwewa. Three soldiers were also wounded during the fighting, military sources further added.
