The President reiterated that the Armed Forces were in no way rivalry the Tamil people in the North, but at the danger of their lives, were only striving their best to liberate the blameless men, women and children from the repression of the terrorists who were retaining them as slaves. "They are hostility for the betterment of the whole nation, complete of the estate community", the President extra.
He said that his Government has been of huge service to the land group of people within the last three years. The estate community who were only restricted to a few four-sided shape feet of accommodation, have now been able to own and live in their vision homes, comprehensive of all essential and modern amenities such as hygiene, electrical energy and potable water, which have now become norms quite than luxuries.
The estate community who only walked the foot paths among the tea undergrowth in the past, have now got the chance to tread on the modernised concrete roads which financial records for over 80 per cent of the roads therein.
The 'Teacher shortage' which was leading in the estate division schools some time back, has also been resolved productively, by recruiting young and cultured teachers from their own organization, instead of bringing them from somewhere else.
Already over 3000 such teachers have been chosen. This is ample indication that there is a great prospect which they could be arrogant of, in the land sector.
The provision of good health amenities for the land sector was long unnoticed by many Governments in the past. yet, this Government had taken a policy alternative to strengthen the health principles in the estates, as a major blame.
The Government in this process, had acquired 23 hospitals owned by the land companies.
"We will allocate from the budget, over Rs. 150 million, to strengthen the hospitals, and Rs. 75 million for sanitation facilities.
Which Government has done such things within your lifetimes? There has been a true rebirth and a further ray of hope to the land community. You too have equal human rights for everything in the state as others and a sense of possession.
No one could divest you of same. We are all children of one mother", President Rajapaksa resolutely stated.
He said that despite the global financial crisis, all necessary safety measures were taken, to alleviate the impact on the village, including the estates, by the provision of special subsidies for rice and kerosene. Mobile trade centers were also introduced.
President Rajapaksa also lauded the estate organization for their very good sense of discipline displayed when they had visited the President's House in Kandy, for Thaipongal. He urged them to display the same sense of gratefulness, at the Provincial Council elections too.
Ministers Hemakumara Nanayakkara, C.B. Rathnayake, Arumugam Thondaman and Muthu Sivalingam also spoke. Ministers Pavithra Wanniyarachchi, Kumara Welgama, Nirmala Kotelawela and a crowd of other distinguished visitors participated at the public meeting.

SLAF damages LTTE Battle Tank - Vishvamadhu
Sri Lanka Air Force MIG-27 jets launched an assault targeting LTTE battle tank experiential 2Km north of Vishvamadukulam yesterday, 24 January.
Air Force spokesperson, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, speaking to defence.lk said that the air sorties were launched around 9.45 PM and the under assault LTTE battle tank was disabled.

Twin air raids at identified LTTE positions- Mullaittivu
SLAF MI-24 helicopter gunships and fighter jets made consecutive air sorties at documented LTTE positions at Visuamadu and Piramathalkulam in Mullaittivu, today (Jan 21).
At 2p.m., MI-24 gunships launched ground support air assaults at an LTTE intensification group, 1km Southeast of Visuamadu, while jets raided an LTTE transportation cum logistic base located in universal area Piramanthalkulam, at 4.45 p.m.

SLAF jets raid LTTE defence line - Paranthan
Sri Lanka Air Force fighter jets have raided LTTE defence line experiential in west of Paranthan this afternoon, 29 December.
The target was busy at 4.15PM in support of troops of Task Force 1, Air Force spokesperson said.
Earlier, the Air Force fighter jets approved out four consecutive air raids targeting LTTE positions in Kilinochchi face.

Twin air strikes at LTTE resistance positions at Mullaittiuvu
The SLAF fighter jets sum twin air sorties this morning (Dec 28) at recognized LTTE argument positions, South of Mullaittiuvu.
According to Air Force Spokesperson, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, the ambiance strikes were accepted out in hold up of the advancing 59 Division troops at about 10.30a.m., and 11 a.m., in that order.

Wanni liberation bid heading for success; 18 terrorists killed in yesterday's clashes
Sri Lanka Armed Forces' bid to liberate Northern Province from the terror clutches reached further towards successes as troops continued give heavy beating to the terrorist on the Mannar- Vavuniya and Welioya fronts during yesterday's (July 19) operations. Finalized military reports received from battlefield indicate 18 deaths to the terrorists, 7 causalities and 5 others as either killed or wounded. A soldier laid down his life and 9 others suffered injuries during these operations.
On the Combined - Mannar Vavuniya front , troops operating under Army 57 division (Div) moved further ahead on the center of the front and had a series of clashes during the course of the day.
In the general area Karaiveddivempu troops of 571 Brigade confronted with a group of LTTE cadres around 8.15 last morning. Later, radio transmissions among LTTE elements confirmed 3 LTTE cadres were killed in this incident. Separately in the same area, LTTE launched mortars at troops around 4.30 in the evening wounding one soldier.
In the general area Murunkaiyadippuddi, troops of 571 Brigade confronted with a group of terrorists around 4.30 in evening . Ground troops claimed 5 terrorists were killed in the incident . Also, one soldier suffered injuries due to LTTE mortar fire.
Meanwhile, troops of 572 and 573 Brigades engaged in clearing operations in the Parappukkal and Pandiyankulam areas respectively found 750 ammo used for T-56 riffles, 8 hand grenades, 3 IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) and 5 AP mines (Anti Personnel) during the day.
Troops belonging to Task Force 2, operating the Eastern flank of the Mannar- Vavuniya front continued their offensives in the Navvi and Palaimodaai areas during the day.
In the Navvi area troops of 621 brigades attacked an LTTE bunker around 4.20 PM and claimed 3 terrorists were killed. Also, the same brigade troops confronted with a group of terrorists in the Palaimoddai area around 5.50 PM and claimed 4 terrorists were killed and 2 others wounded.
Troops of Task Force 1 operating in the Western flank of the Mannar - Vavuniya front, continued their march towards Iluppaikkadavai and halted at the southern limits of the buildup by last night,
Meanwhile, one soldier was killed and 4 others suffered injuries due to terror retaliatory attacks in the Kannaddi and Kaddadivayal areas during the day.

Meanwhile, troops engaged in clearing operations in the North of Kiriibbanwewa area removed 254 AP mines 31 IEDs during the day.
Limited offensives are being continued.

LTTE boat destroyed in SLAF attack off Mullaittivu coast
SLAF fighter jets launched precision air strikes at an LTTE boat movement detect one kilometer off the coast of Mullaittivu this morning (July 9) at 8.

An LTTE expert in explosive devices killed in air raid - Mannar
An expert in explosive devices of the LTTE in Mannar front identified as "Dhora" has been killed in a successful air raid carried out by the SLAF MI-24 helicopters this morning, May 26.
An explosive dump of the LTTE terrorists was also destroyed in this attack, sources further said.
The air raid was launched targeting LTTE stronghold located in general area Andankulam, 1.5 Km north of the security forces defence in Mannar front around 8.30 a.m. today.
