Air Force fighter jets targets LTTE strongholds- Mullaittivu
Sri Lanka Air Force combatant jets carried out two divide missions yesterday (Feb 1) targeting LTTE strongholds in Mullaittivu.
Air Force spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara speaking to defence.lk said MIG 27 jets compressed a meeting of LTTE cadres detected by Army 59 Division soldiers, north of Mullaittivu at 4 PM.

The final siege begins; army maneuvering towards coast
With the imprison of LTTE's main barracks town Mullaittivu yesterday (Jan 25), all seven offensive basics of Sri Lanka Army are now sweeping up remaining LTTE pockets towards the northeastern shore of the Island.
According to the battleground reports, troops of Army 55 Division marching down the coast towards Challai lagoon gained considerable ground throughout yesterday's operations. A sniper deployed in the forward areas south of Chundikulam confirmed shooting down of an LTTE cadre last evening. Challai remains the last stronghold of the sea tigers where many defence observers wait for the terrorist to scuffle their last battles.
Meanwhile troops of Army 58 Division located next to the 55 Division, when telling battlefield counterclockwise are now choreography in two frontiers. Troops deployed in northern part of the frontage are title towards Challai to link up with 55 Division while those in southern part are choreography towards Visuamadu along with Army 57 Division.
Troops of 583 group had daylong confrontations with the terrorists in the Puliyampokkanai area and composed 5 bodies of slain LTTE cadres and 4 T-56 riffles following yesterday's hostility. Also, in the same area snipers confirmed gunfire down of 11 LTTE cadres. Meanwhile, troops hostility in the outer edge of Visuamadu found 2 bodies of LTTE cadres along with one multi reason machine gun on the same day twilight. Three air raids targeting LTTE defences - Mulliattivu
Sri Lanka Air Force has approved out three consecutive air raids targeting LTTE defences today, 22 January.

Air Force Jets target LTTE hideouts - Chundikulam
Sri Lanka Air Force combatant jets shattered an LTTE attack boat concealed in the Chundikulam lagoon this morning (Jan 11).
Air Force spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said that the jets accepted out the air strikes targeting the boat and the moving back terrorists from the Jaffna peninsula. He long-established that the boat was shattered and the terrorists suffered heavy damages in the air raid.

7 killed, including 4 civilians in LTTE claymore bomb attack- Morawewa
Seven people counting 3 Air Force workers were killed and 6 more civilians reported upset in an LTTE triggered claymore bombard attack at Morawewa, this morning, 9 January.
The byroad claymore was triggered targeting civilians who were working at an irrigation growth project funded by the Government in the area. Air Force workers were as long as escort to the civilians, security sources supposed.

Sri Lanka Air Force MI 24 helicopter gunships have raided LTTE defences today, 4 January, to help ground troops advancing in Mullaittivu and Kilinochchi fronts.
Air Force representative, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, speaking to defence.lk said that combatant jets raided LTTE defences in northeast of Oddusudda in Mullaittivu front and 2Km south of Elephant Pass in Kilinochchi front approximately 6.30 AM and 1.20 PM respectively.

Secretary Defence visits Air Force Bases
Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited the Air Force bases at Hingurakgoda, Chainabay and Katunayaka yesterday, 3 January, in order to be grateful for the exceptional service rendered by the SLAF towards the achievement of the Wanni release unpleasant in Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu fronts.
Base Commander of Hingurakgoda bottom, Wing Commander D.K Wanigasooriya, welcomed Secretary Defences when he at home at Hingurakgoda Air Base throughout his visit. Addressing the officers and airmen of the MI-24 regiment, Secretary Defence praised their promise by initiation close air hold up missions to assist earth troops throughout the winning Wanni release offensive.
Later, he visited Chainabay Air Force bottom and Base leader Group Captain Wijitha Gunarathna welcomed the Secretary Defence. After addressing the officers and airmen of the Chainabay base Defence Secretary flew to Katunayaka.
Base Commander of Katunayaka Air Base, Air Commodore C.R Gurusinghe welcomed the Secretary Defence in his influx to Katunayaka. Speaking to officers and airmen of No 12 (MI-27), No 10 (Kfir) and No5 (F-7) squadrons, Secretary Defence expressed his thanks valued the service rendered by them for the achievement of Wanni fight.
Defence Secretary was accompanied by Air Force leader Air Marshal Roshan Gunathilaka and a few older officials of the Air Force head office.

SLAF raids 'sea tiger' base in Mullaittiuvu: LTTE on the run
SLAF fighter jets made accuracy air strikes at LTTE's main sea tiger base situated in the coastal make bigger of the Mullaittiuvu lagoon, Saturday (Jan 3) at approximately 2.10 p.m.
Air surveillance imagery have confirmed terrorists fleeing into deeper jungles of Mullaittiuvu in total confusion, Air Force sources supposed.
