57 Div troops gain control over Iranamadu Tank bund- Kilinochchi

The advancing 57 Division troops have gained total manage over the Iranamadu Tank bund, following hours of heavy hostility with LTTE early this morning (Jan 16).
Troops advancing eastwardly from the A-9 trunk road met with stiff LTTE confrontation as ground troops claimed scoring serious LTTE wounded. Unable to oppose the strong military assaults terrorists have fled send-off dead and arms behind security sources said. Meanwhile, troops are also making additional higher towards Ramanathapuram, North of Iranamadu, safety sources said.
Troops are now consolidating defences in the area, the sources additional said.
