The Sri Lanka Army 57 Division, Task Force 3, Task Force 2 and Task Force 4 deployed south of A-35 road (Paranthan- Mullaittivu) sustained to connect terrorists' pockets from Visuamadu to Puthukkudiyiruppu areas yesterday (Jan 31).
According to the battleground reports, troops of the 57 Div sustained their operations north of Visuamadu Kulam tank and captured a terrorist dugout last morning. Also, troops throughout the operations found a sniper riffle.
Meanwhile, the Task Force 2 troops busy in daylong confrontations with the terrorists north of Udayarkattukualam tank. The Task Force 4 troops too had similar confrontations south of Puthukkudiyiruppu. Both earth sources, and intercepted radio broadcast reports confirmed heavy compensation to the terrorists throughout these clashes.
Separately, snipers deployed beneath the Army 55 Division in Chundikulam forward areas long-established shooting downward of 2 LTTE cadres.

TF-3 troops confront with terrorists; 4 LTTE bodies found - Mullaittivu
Troops of Task Force 3 (TF3) title towards Viswamadu have confronted with a collection of LTTE terrorists in universal area northeast of Ampakamam in Mullaittivu throughout the day hours today, 19 January.
According to the in order received from the battlefront, troops of 16 Gajaba Regiment (16 GR) serving beneath TF-3 have confronted with LTTE terrorists while extending their defences in the area. In a following search process conducted troops have found 4 bodies of LTTE terrorists killed throughout the battle along with 4 T-56 arms.
The remaining terrorists have reserved with the wounded as they not capable to face the unpleasant push known by troops.
Intercepting LTTE message channels, Electronic Warfare sources long-established that terrorists suffered heavy casualties during the confrontation.

LTTE's airstrip in Mullaittivu captured
LTTE's another airstrip situated in universal area Keppapularu, 6.5Km northwest of Mullayavalai town centre in Mulaittivu has been captured by the troops of 59 Division on unpleasant march towards Mullaittivu today, 10 January.
Soldiers of the 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) commanded by replacement Colonel Janaka Ariyaratne under 593 Brigade commanded by replacement Colonel Jayantha Goonaratne launched an unpleasant operation a few days ago and captured the fraction of the airstrip by Friday evening (9 Jan) amidst stiff confrontation given by the terrorists. Following days long hostility, troops have totally captured the airstrip by 9.00 AM today causing heavy compensation to the enemy, military sources said.
The captured LTTE airstrip, over 2000m long and 20m wide meadow, having a tar over 1000m loan, military sources in Mullaitivu front said. Two hangers and more than a few partly destroyed huts are also on the airstrip, sources added.

Troops clear A-34 from Mankulam to Tanniyattu
Troops of Army 57 Division, Task Force 3 and Task Force 4 have opened up the A-34 road (Mankulam- Mullaittivu) street up to Tanniyuttu, following new counter terrorist operations on the Mullaittivu battlefront, make recognized battlefield sources.
Sri Lanka Air Force combatant jets and MI-24 helicopter gunships approved out ambiance strikes at LTTE gatherings in the Mullaittivu area in hold up of advancing troops this morning (Jan 5).
