An LTTE attack craft was confirmed shattered and many other boats injured after air force MI-24 airplane gunships made close-in-air combat assaults at an LTTE boat movement in the Kilaly lagoon, Tuesday (Dec 16) at around 6.10 p.m.
Identifying an LTTE boat group with strengthening towards Paranthan from the non-liberated Elephant Pass area, the MI-24 helicopters continued attractive the boats forcing terrorists to dump the mission, Air Force Spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said speaking to defence.lk.
The air assaults were launched in support of the advance TF- 1 troops, he additional said.
