Four more Tamil civilians from LTTE areas reach Omanthai

Four more Tamil civilians counting a 6 year-old child from LTTE held areas have at home at the entry/exit tip in Omanthai, Vavuniya last evening, 01 December, looking for safe haven with security forces.
According to the military sources, the civilians who were clever to flee LTTE's grip are inhabitants of Wishwamadu area in Kilinochchi.
Two males of 29 and 22 years of age and 30 year-old female are in the middle of the escapees, sources added.
The escapees have been provided with foods and essential medical treatments and later heading for them to the IDP center recognized in Vavuniya. All the preparations have been complete to give protection for civilians, the government officials in Vavuniya said.

Kokavil liberated; another LTTE bastion on A-9 falls

Troops of Sri Lanka Army 57 division today (Dec 1) reached long awaited landmark on their march into terrorist dens in Wanni with the release of the Kokavil town.

Italy recognised the dangerous possible of terrorists by arresting those with hypothetical links to the release Tiger of Tamil Eelam, Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Italy, Hemantha Warnakulasuriya told Adnkronos International (AKI).
In an interview with AKI in Rome, Warnakulasuriya, said the Italian administration had taken the lead in Europe in clamping down on anyone who tried to extract money from the Sri Lankan group of people to support the Tigers.
Italian establishment in June under arrest 28 suspected Tiger sympathisers in nine Italian cities counting Rome and Naples. Warnakulasuriya said others had been arrested elsewhere in Italy. "The Italian Government supports Sri Lanka in its brawl against terror agents. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam is a terror organisation whose tentacles increase all over the world," he told AKI. "It is an organisation against civilisation and democracy.
"The Italians realised this and prosecuted those involved." But the ambassador harassed that each Tamil was not a terrorist or a Tiger sympathiser.
"The whole Tamil population are not or do not hold up the Tigers but they have money extorted by agents," he said. "It is nothing but extortion when populace don't want to contribute."
Speaking about the Mumbai terrorist attacks the diplomat said Sri Lanka and India wanted to strengthen collaboration to fight terrorism and work with Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh to protect South Asia from extremists.
He said India had underpredictable the risks posed by terrorists and were not ready for an assault of this scale.
